Indeed. However, I doubt whether a merchant can avoid responsibility for selling something useless by saying that if something goes wrong it is the customer's fault.0 -

Since you paid for 'connection protection' but were not assisted, that strengthens your case.
Or did you fail to follow their instructions? (Usually, you have to wait at the airport for hours before you get a response, but they do eventually enable you to complete your journey.)0
