Advice request Alliance Parking/Moorside Legal Letter of Claim

I was issued with a PCN by Alliance Parking.

It was for a duration stay 2Hr 33mins in April 2022 at Seaview Car Park, PL27 6SR.

I dropped off a family member at the car park without staying (this is the claimed start time of my “unpaid stay”)

I had already done a drop off at the car park earlier on the same day.  I then picked up family members later in the day from the car park without stopping (this is the claimed end time of my “unpaid stay”).

I did these drop offs multiple times during our 6 day stay in the area but received only this one PCN.

I appealed using the online forms method, explaining what I had done and that I would not be paying and would not enter into any further correspondence.

In November 2024, I started receiving letters and answer phone/text messages from Trace Debt Recovery which I ignored and did not enter into communication.

In April 2025 I started getting letters from Moorside Legal Solicitors which I ignored and did not enter into communication.

I then failed to open a Letter of Claim from Moorside Legal on 12/5/25 and having opened it I am now worried because I didn’t reply within the 30 days.

I would be very grateful for any advice.  I feel really frustrated and stressed with the thought of being taken to a claims court for something that I did not do.

I wondered if consecutive entry and reentry on the same day is a common problem for creating wrong duration of stays with ANPR and whether I am in a position to request the log held by Alliance Parking for the number of entries and departures to try to prove the error.

Many thanks.

You don't have to reply. Don't worry about it.

Just look out for any court claim. It's just paperwork at the end of the day and 99% of single ticket cases get discontinued.

Are you saying it was a double dip and you didn't stay for 2hr 33?

There was a McDonald's double dip the other day if you have a search for the thread.

Just email the LoC response template from the second post in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum by coupon mad,  to Moorside Legal

The court claim pack from the CNBC in Northampton using MCOL is inevitable,  so save your time for now, no asking for evidence at this stage

You can put them to strict proof when the time comes

Just follow the process,  it's easier that way,  dont overthink it at this stage,  it's a game of chicken,  with thousands of victims for various reasons,  being picked to play

So LoC response only,  by email,  for now, same as everyone else

Hmmmm you could make money from this.

When you defend you can counterclaim, given you appealed at the time and told them it was a double visit not one single parking event. Can you prove you appealed to Alliance?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks.  This is reassuring. I really appreciate the quick responses on this forum.  Yep...I didn't stay for the 2hr 33....two separate in and outs. I'll look up the McDonald's DD thread. Thank you.

I have the what I typed for the online appeal.

I received confirmation from Alliance Parking that they received my appeal and then a separate response from them saying they'd rejected my appeal.

Send an email now to Moorside, stating that you have proof that you appealed and told Alliance Parking (who replied, so they know these facts) that this was a 'double dip' ANPR error scenario, so their clients should never have retained nor passed Moorside Legal this DVLA data.

Double dip cases must be cancelled, as there was no reasonable cause to obtain, let alone process, DVLA data.

Add that, if they fail to return the file to their clients and close the case forthwith, you will report Moorside Legal and its Principal Solicitors, Rebecca Horton-Grainger and Ibrar Ahmad, to the SRA for their apparent failures to meet professional standards.

    (...like this:

...but obviously your reasons are different
    )

Finish by saying, if they have already filed a claim they must discontinue it or you will counterclaim for compensation for data abuse (breach of the DPA 2018) AND will in any event report Moorside's principal solicitors to the SRA.
