Hello all,
I just wanted to ask if anyone has received a credit out of the blue from TW? I just checked my account and was surprised to see a credit of over £400.
There's no explanation of this on my online account pages.
I'm metered and pay £20pm (single household). I went on a meter over a year ago, and before that would pay my entire yearly bill on receipt. I therefore don't think this is a refund of overbilling.

Did you on your meter lust after paying your 24/25 bill?
I did that (same years ago) and my supplier refunded most of what I had paid - the rest of the year would be as a result of metered bills.
I this what is happening with STW?
Ring them ? Confirm they are billing on metered reading nowNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Thames Water charges:
-
Metered customers every six months, based on actual usage
-
Unmetered customers yearly in advance
If you switched to a meter recently, the credit could be from your last unmetered bill overlapping with the start of your metered billing. Essentially, you may have paid in advance for a period that has now been recalculated based on your actual usage.

Thanks both. I've realised I can request a statement of all payments I've made in the last 2 years so once that's produced I'll have more to go off.
It might well be that I am due that balance, but I've seen nothing in any recent letters (paperless on the site) to suggest I had built it up in the first place.0
