Not sure about ugly but they seem to lack character

I bought a Vivaro van, along with a few bumps here and there. I can't afford to care what it looks like.
Some people do choose to spend a lot of money on their vehicle, but I would guess the average person would spend roughly 2 months wages to buy their vehicle.

They are definitely getting larger, all that 'Elf 'n Safety means the inside has to be further from the outside because of all the crash protection between them.

You might think they are uglier, because the latest "fad" is for blocky square fronts with tiny rectangular lights a sort of 1960s estate car revival, but you will get used to it by the time the next one comes along. The previous "fad" was for the Nissan Joke body style- people hated it when it came out, yet it was copied by everyone.

Cars of each era have always looked broadly the same if you think about it.

Recently back from Ontario where we saw a couple of completely bizarre vehicles.  All flat panels. No curves at all.  If I'd been on a set for Blade Runner I would have thought it fit in completely.  It looked so weird!!!  Sorry but don't know what on earth, or wherever, it was.  But not pretty.

Have to disagree. Cars haven't always been uglier.

Every now and again you'll be walking past cars and something makes you stop and turn back to look.
Usually it turns out to be a real classic. They just oooze class.

There are lots of quirky shapes and fins, they did have similar back in the day, like the old Cortina mk1

The allegro might’ve been ugly, but it was ahead of it’s time with that quartec steering wheel…
