Why would I have a sudden, drastic reduction in water consumption?

Were you in the past, unbeknown to you, paying for another property's usage that is currently empty!?This does happen and i have experienced this myself.I bought a derelict country cottage set back from a roadside some 500yds behind a row of houses on the roadside. Hope that makes sense!There was a water meter and the pressure was almost non-existent, so it decided that the cottage needed a new supply. In the doing of that it was discovered that one of the houses on the main road was paying not only for their own usage but also for the cottage that i'd bought, and they had been doing so for the whole 20 something years that they have had a water meter. Previous owners, presumably too.They received a massive refund.0

Hi,
If you're sure that nothing has changed in terms of your own consumption then I would be looking at the possibility that either
a) the meter details appearing on your bill do not match those of your meter - i.e
you are paying someone else's bill;
b) that the meter that you think is yours is actually for another property and that yours is a different meter (or you dont have a meter at al!); or
c) that your meter also supplies another property somehow.
