Argos Order

Hi all. I ordered £250 item recently from Argos. Tracking says delivered but I never received anything. Investigation was opened and it was basically said the following
Good afternoon
I am writing today regarding your recent Argos delivery
I'm sorry to hear that you have reported your delivery did not reach you, I understand the frustration that this situation can cause.
As our systems show the delivery as successful, I have raised an investigation with the delivery hub and the delivery crew as well to determine what has happened with the delivery.
After raising an investigation with the depot and conducting driver interviews, I have been able to confirm our driver has confirmed and supplied a photo of your delivery at your address was completed Tuesday 3rd June at 15:17PM.
Based on this information, a decision has been made to not refund or replace the missing item on this occasion.
I can appreciate this is not your desired outcome and I can only advise you to dispute with your card issuer.
I asked for proof of the delivery and it was a picture of a parcel held up against my door number on the wall. No proof of anyone accepting delivery or anything. I paid with Argos card. They then redisputed and declined again. Now I’m £250 down. I paid using the Argos card rather than my own card. But eventually will have to pay it off using my own card. Any advice is really appreciated.

Is the Argos card a credit card? An Argos Card is a store card with a credit limit that allows you to make purchases from Habitat, Argos and Sainsbury's and pay at a later date. Depending on what you buy, you can use an Argos Card a bit like you would a regular credit card or take out an Argos Card credit plan.
so its a store card you put the purchase on and then pay it off at a later date. I contacted those who basically said they can re-raise it to the back office team. I’ve been told a letter has been sent to me which I haven’t received yet which I’m guessing is another refusal.0 -
This is Argos proof of delivery.0

It doesn't sound like that card carries section 75 protection, and I'm not sure about whether chargeback would work, either.
You could up the ante by sending them a letter before action, threatening to take them to court. You'd have to be prepared to see it through if they don't respond positively but for the cost of a stamp it's perhaps a good start.1 -
As far as i'm aware, the Argos card is a credit card so S75 applies.1

Except the OP seems to describe a card with rather more restrictions that a credit card:GassObv said:

Could there be two different products both called "Argos Card"?
I was not aware that "store cards" were really a thing any longer. It was the case in the 1970's that you could get credit cards (use anywhere) and "store cards" (use only in the issuing store / chain) but I though the latter was thing of the past.0 -

They are indeed examples of the store cards which you thought were things from the past - they actually say so:'This is a store card credit agreement...you will be able to make purchases at Argos, Habitat, Sainsbury’s. You cannot use this card for any other means, including withdrawing cash from an ATM or making purchases in any other retailers.'
Importantly each of the three card agreements is headed:
Credit Card Agreement regulated by the Consumer Credit Act 1974.
When on this site we casually refer to s75, that is shorthand for section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 so yes, these cards do have s75 protection.
Note though that they are not part of either the Visa or Mastercard networks1 -
Well either the courier left the parcel and someone stolen it or the courier stole it. Open a police report for the theft.
I'd contact them again saying this is not proof of delivery and is just someone holding a parcel up outside a number. Delivery proof would need to show your door open and accepting the parcel.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)1 -

Does not look like a credit card. BNPL store card. So no S75.

Chargeback, they have proof of delivery (but pretty sure no cover anyway) as cards do not have any Visa/Mastercard logo on (see link)
Only thing is OP needs to report to police, give that to Argos. See if that makes them investigate any more?Life in the slow lane0
