Isn't it funny that it doesn't come up if you search..?

It did come up on a search yesterday.
Also, IMHO, I think it's a bit harsh to point out a coincidence between OP, first post, and fab bargain etc as if the OP has posted this for some reason other than to let others know of a potentially fab bargain. I know this does happen and often relates to new sites and their owners (or spammers)......PC World doesn't fall into either of those and so perhaps.....just maybe......the OP did find what he/she thought was potentially a genuine bargain. Not their fault that PC World are known to regular MSErs (and HDUKers) for this misleading false advertising of goods which are never going to be available.
In some cases I think the benefit of the doubt should be given. otherwise people may well stop visiting this site and posting if they feel they are going to be judged badly if 'bargains' they post about aren't forthcoming. I, myself, posted about a Tefal frying pan at Debenhams this week.....and Debenhams cancelled all the orders. If this had been my first ever post I wonder if I would have received the same sort of judgements from others.0 -
when a company like this has a reserve online service items still show onn the web as long as they exist somewhere in the country, they could be exdisplay items, faulty items that have not been returned properly.
it is very frustrating but surely the op was trying to point out something they thought was a bargain. i am very dubious and if something seems too good to be true it probably is
anything like that would have been snapped up by staff first0 -
I am sure Op posted in good faith, its juts that many of us seasoned posters know PCworlds little games they play, far too often bargain deals that have been posted never come0

Fair point - I withdraw my comment.
It's just that I used to work in viral marketing, and this is exactly the sort of thing I would have done :-)
If PC World do intentionally place "phantom products", what would be the point without any links to them? This sort of approach ensures "word of mouth advertising", which is often mistaken as genuine because it's much more carefully considered than general spam.
But I certainly have no evidence to suggest that OP is anything other than a genuine newbie.Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -

I did do a bit of looking around on the forums after a couple of you guys said it was bogus and apparently there are a lot of these phantom items that crop up on PC world (usually ending in 97 pence)
