Of course we have plenty of time.DullGreyGuy said:
So in most cases you will have plenty of time before getting on the plane to eat something and not be reliant on the on plane food.Pollycat said:We're then at the airport for at least 3 hours before the flight.
But no inclination to eat at any of the food outlets in departures and even less inclination to eat airline food.
Which is why we choose to take our own food to eat on board.0 -
We do sandwhiches as well, even take empty water bottles with us through security and try find somewhere to fill them on the other side - bottled water is unreasonably expensive in airports.Indout96 said:

We always take sandwiches from home and either eat them in the airport or on the plane the only thing we buy is water, normally in Duty Free as its cheaper than Boots / WHS, its not stored in a cooler so is room temperature but so is your cold bottle by the time its been in your bag for an hour.0 -
I will have to admit to taking the convenience route - for short haul I will buy a coffee or tea on the plane. If I need to eat, again for short haul I will have something at the airport beforehand, otherwise a snack such as a bag of crisps will suffice for the journey and I will eat at the destination. For long haul, I will eat the provided meals.
I don't travel by air often enough (maybe 2-3 times a year) to worry about the cost of airport food or water - I'm happy to pay for the convenience.
There used to be a place in T1 in Manchester that served jacket potatoes at a reasonably price, but it closed down around 2020 - either just before or just after covid.1
