As you worked prior to claiming ESA that's where your entitlement to Conts ESA came from. When in the Support Group that entitlement doesn't expire and remains active today, hence the transfer to New Style ESA as part of the migration process.

Mixed age couple claims are very complex and I'd not recommend attempting to calculate and check the award yourself, they definitely need a trained advisor and I believe you mentioned having someone expert in place to check your first payment statement for you.

If you live in social housing you don't need to do anything other than declare your rent amount on the application. UC will verify the details directly with your landlord, no further input on your part.

Each local authority CTR department has differing procedures around information sharing with UC, I've never had to give any information to mine, yours is obviously different and UC were wrong to advise you nothing further was needed.
