Explain how your illness or disability affects your ability to work.

    Read my WCA findings

Assuming that they can see the outcome of legacy outcomes if renewals are switched off.

Not sure if my previous comment was posted on a/c my head is all over the place with stress.
Migration from IRESA/Housing benefit to UC mixed age couple. As been a nightmare, eventually had DWP home ID visit.
The online UC forms were done for us & claimant commitments were agreed. Was told on the UC after ID confirmed all was straightforward now, I would be notified on the 5th Aug of amount & paid on 9th August. I didnt have to contact housing benefit/council tax as all linked up. I thought thank god at last I can relax. But no, I've recueved an ESA98 form telling me I need a work coach & job centre visits & New Style ESA.
I cant take anymore of this.
I've asked on the UC jounals & all they say is UC is ok & IRESA is doing their bit to work out transutional protection, but CONT ESA & the payment of £281.10 I recieved today is nothing to do with them.
I'm in the support group get SDP premiums.
But this letter as floored me, can anyone help or advise as the way I feel at present my body & head cant take anymore. I have emailed my MP & had to contact my GP as I took 3 times the amount of anxiety meds to try & calm me down.

As you moved onto NSESA a new CC needs to be set up, the letter is misleading as as you are in the SG all the CC will be is to  notify them of any changes.
The council are informed about the move to UC, then your local council will calculate new CTR as it can be different, as the rules for IRESA & UC might not be the same for you LA.

Thanks for reply, whats CC? I keep checking the UC journal today I must have checked about every 30 mins. So what do I do with this letter ESA98? I had no idea how bad this migration was going to be. I'm confused as I doubt very if I'll know if the amount of UC is correct as I've now got this £281.10 today how I'm expected to work out something I dont understand. I stupidly thought the UC payment would be the exact same payments as my ESA plus rent, as my rents paid to me & I pay housing assoc.

I dont even know what new style esa is never knew I was on cont ESA. Not one piece of paperwork mentions cont esa only IR ESA. I dont see the point of any if it if I'm still getting ESA. Whoever designed this must hope people give up & say enough! Cos thats how I feel.

So I now have to wait for a call to confirm this letter or not. I'm absolutely fed up stressed sick with worry since this started back in March. Sorry to sound so dumb, but my head feels like its been smashed.

CC = claimant commitments. You won't have any work commitments as you are in the support group for ESA. You do have to agree to inform of change of circumstances and other things. I don't think it's anything to worry about. ESA is nothing to do with UC, so the UC journal won't tell you anything about your ESA claim.

But I've done the claimant commitments online during the migration from esa to uc. I shouldnt be on ESA it stopped on the 17th July. I had DWP home visiting officer here on the 22nd for ID proof for UC. Nothing was ever mentioned about a new style esa, I dont even know what it is? I've never been on Cont Esa, I've gone back through all my DWP paper work no mention of cont only IR esa.
I'm just so tired of this! All this started in March & I'm still jumping through hoops & confused.
    Thanks for your reply.

I dont know what I'm going to do TBH

There was evidently entitlement to contributions-based ESA along with an income-related top-up otherwise they'd not have converted it to New-Style and be paying you money.  BUT ESA letters are notoriously confusing so it can be really hard for people to know for certain what their legacy ESA was made up of, unless they knew for sure it was only contributions-based.
Even my New Style ESA letters make reference to income-related amount, which is completely irrelevant and can never have been applicable as I opened my claim long after no more legacy claims could be made!

The claimant commitment for ESA will honestly be exactly the same as for UC, basically just to notify them of any relevant changes.  I don't know why they bother but can only assume there must be some procedural requirement that the legacy version didn't have.
