Sorry for the delay in responding, no I have taken it to NAPIT and they are independently reviewing it. Very disappointed with Octopus as they do not seem to care once it’s installed. I had other issues to with the support slap being balanced on a stone to level it with no cement packing base, they do repair that though.

I have not paid and refused to do so, they seem to be even chasing the payment?

Have you asked the manufacturer if the warranty is invalidated or not by this damage? It is damaged goods, if I was you I would get all my ducks in a row before anything else. Proper advice in other words. A good place for an informed response would be the Renewable Heating Forum - there's people with contacts within the industry there.

I suspect that someone has decided that it would be more expensive to repair / replace than the amount that you owe them, and they've decided not to chase you for the money knowing that they are liable for a repair / replacement. They are possibly hoping that you'll give in chasing them for a repair / replacement and in return they'll not chase you for the money you owe them!!!!

Interesting though about the possible absence of a warranty. I'd be seeking advice on this one just in case. Citizens advice, Trading Standards.

I suspect that something, whatever it may be has a warranty even if it hasn't been paid for or if you only paid a penny for something valued at 100's of thousands.

My gut feeling is that it will be covered by a warranty, not your fault you haven't paid for it if they haven't chased you for the installation fee. Free gifts of "Whatever it may be" to whoever have a warranty.

Your warranty may be with the product manufacturer rather than the installer!!??

What bits of paper do you have, can you prove who installed it and when it was installed? If you can, then my gut feeling is the installer is liable for any warranty work from the date of installation even though it's unpaid for.

Seek advice, i'd start with citizens advice and trading standards.

On the other hand, go with the flow. You have an expensive system installed for free at this time. Hopefully you won't have any warranty issues.......... Just make sure you get it serviced every year and more importantly get a receipt proving that it's been serviced.
