Lyca mobile - unlimited call package. Can’t make calls

We have a Lyca Mobile PAYG contract for daughter who lives away from home.
She has exceeded her data usage for the month, which is fine.
However it seems to have blocked her making calls and sending texts too.
The plan is for unlimited calls and texts.
She doesn’t have access to make internet calls through WhatsApp and Messenger so we are just talking standard calls and texts.
Do we need to top up her data to enable her to make calls?

    Why would running out of included data stop you using your unlimited calls and texts which you're paying for?

    When you say 'away from home' do you mean abroad?

    It's how these 'not really PAYG because it's a monthly package' deals work. You are buying an amount of data - the calls/texts are available because the data package is active.

    You can continue to make calls/texts/use data (at PAYG rates) if you have cash credit once the package data has been consumed, this would also be how "premium" services outside the call/text package would be paid for.

    I don't think this is right. I had Lyca and when data ran out, you couldn't use data but could use calls and texts.

    The only thing I've seen similar to what you are saying is that Voxi requires you to have some of your data bundle left before the free Unlimited social media/ music or video will work.

    I can't see anything in their t&c's to suggest that the calls and texts are only unlimited while you have included data remaining, only that additional data is chargeable;

    Of course 'unlimited' does mean 'subject to reasonable fair usage' which may be unclear.

    So by your logic if you were on a basic  200/200/2gb tariff would you be unable to use your included data once you had maxed out your 200 minutes?

    Yes I agree, that would be illogical.

    Thinking about it, I think I'm conflating the way "pure" PAYG works, when you add data-only add-ons with zero credit, with monthly packages. So a monthly package on "New PAYG" will have discreet allowances of calls, SMS (both of which may be unlimited) and data.

    Apologies, giving duff opinion as to how OP's Lyca package should work. As per @PHK's post calls/SMS should continue after all data consumed.
