Data in Europe

You need a physical sim. Order from website.
The sim is just a normal sim 
It works in the uk as normal.
There is a few threads about them on here,about customer service being bad,but touch wood iv never had any problems with them since i joined in 2019.
They run on EE

If you are not a "massive user", what are you doing to use up 25GB?

I have Tesco Mobile with 12GB included data.  That includes roaming in Europe.
When we go away, I use the phone for whatever I wish to use it for without worrying about data.  I also tether my laptop for work and join Teams calls.
Never exceed the data limit.  Or even worry about the data limit.

In your case, you seem to have 25GB for you and can then use your wife's data allowance once that is exhausted.

If you are not using the data for anything, then you must be burning a lot of data in background apps.  Can you turn these off?

I think I've answered that already. It looks like I'm a bigger user than I was willing to admit! 

I take a lot of photos, and they are uploaded to OneDrive. I also spend a bit of time on forums, like here. 

The other thing is the sheer length of time. For a week or ten days I can cut usage, but if I'm away for 50 days or so I want to use data more or less like at home.
