It is only the standard allowance that would be subject to the daily 100% sanction rate. These are noted on the Gov.uk link below.
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/benefit-and-pension-rates-2025-to-2026/benefit-and-pension-rates-2025-to-2026#universal-credit-uc-monthly-rates
The child and Housing amount would not be subject to sanction reduction.
Sounds like your partner has issues they need to deal with and they should be talking to GP or other support services. Why are they lacking motivation ? Are they suffering with a mental health condition ?The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.3 -
When you say "appointments," it will depend on your partners circumstances the ID they have, they may not have to attend job centre in person. Why are they refusing?
Under Equality Act you can ask for fair reasonable adjustments.0 -
For an existing UC claim, where one partner refuses to attend appointments etc then a sanction of half of the applicable daily reduction rate can be made for each day the person refuses to engage with UC. This would be £10.30 per day (the daily reduction rate for a couple is £20.60 in total).Note that this is where a UC claim exists. If one partner refuses to engage during the first assessment period (i.e. after a claim has bneen made but before the claim has been approved) I don't know whether a reduction rate would be applied or whether the whole claim would be disallowed. I'm not sure if in the OP's case UC is already in payment, though the opening post reads like it is already in payment.1

In general, For not attending appointments it is the amount of days between missed and rebooked appointment and then an additional 7 days for a first offence.
Noting its a joint claim so reduction will be 50% of the daily rate.Proud to have dealt with our debtsStarting debt 2005 £65.7K.

It would have been better to keep this in your original thread so that repliers could see that this is related to the AET and having to jobseek or not:Ladysuga32 said:Hi good morning.l am on a joint claim but l am only working with me earning £1650 per month from
