I have filed unaffordable complaint with MBNA and just got a letter from asking for the following details:
“- A testimony of your version of events from time of the lending to understand why you’re raising this complaint now. Has there been a change in circumstance i.e., employment, vulnerability etc. which has led to you raising this complaint.
- We need bank statements three months before the lending was given showing all income and expenditure.
- Bank statements three months before any credit limit was increased.

- Statements from any other external account used for income including savings account.
- Permission to view any bank statements within Lloyds Banking Group
- Verification of your income, payslips, accountant records etc.
-Credit file information from the point of lending showing existing lending and affordability. Evidence of other debt/information regarding any defaults/CCJ’s at the time.

It’s best if we can talk about if you vacant call you can contact us by post or via email.”
I would appreciate any suggestions on how to proceed from here. I think they are asking for too much but maybe that’s the procedure.

Either you provide the information or you withdraw your complaint. Its ultimately for you to show their lending was irresponsible rather than it was your borrowing that was irresponsible0

Lenders are getting a lot harder on these types of claims. As they realise many are just trying it on, in the hope of a payout.
You need to show them that your income & expenditure, would make any lending unaffordable 👍Life in the slow lane0 -
Okay - will gather the information. The credit application approved at that time was for a balance transfer of over £7.5K
is it best to give them a call since they said in the letter that it’s best if we can talk?0
