As above, I can not see any prospective buyers being put off by temporary scaffolding in the garden.

They might be put off though if the neighbour gets the hump, and puts on very loud music every time you get a viewing, or stands in the garden loudly F'ing and Blinding, or similar.

I find it is usually best to stay on the right side of neighbours if possible.

@Albermarle I don't think they'd do that, they have three young children...

Just let them put the scaffold up. I cant understand why you are making this out to be such a big thing.
    Just be a good neighbor.

@bazdvd it is a big thing to me. I feel like I'm being forced to have it in my garden. I don't want to go out of my way to be awkward but I feel their extension shouldn't involve me and I don't like being forced into situations, especially when I've got a lot going on.

Your neighbour will certainly think you are being awkward and, as others have said, what goes around comes around.

So at the moment it involves a bit of "waste" ground - absolutely you can refuse but if I was your neighbour I would make your life a living hell and apart from anything else that would potentially scupper your chances of a decent price if you tried to sell.

So what should I do, just say yes do whatever you like...

I would like to cover myself. Some have offered guidance around this but I still have some questions unanswered.

Other than how much should you charge them (only you can decide what the inconvenience would be worth), what other questions are outstanding?

The simple fact is you can say no if you want.

You say ‘yes no problem I’m happy to help out a neighbour. Would you please ensure that the scaffolders make sure I can access my outside tap’

So you have a copy of the plans that you could put on here so people can have a better idea of what your neighbour is planning.

There is no way 14 days will be long enough to build a 2 storey extension but if we have a look at the plans that would help

As a user has said before take lots of photos and vids before and ideally if you can just as the scaffolders are about to start as it can help in any dispute.

My brother had his neighbour use his garden for scaffolding and he was not there when it was put up and the next day he noticed that the poles were about 75mm from his french doors and windows so ho could not open the door or windows were the scaffolding was.

Told next door neighbour and his builder and was told if you want it moved he would have to pay. It was up for nearly 6 months and that was over summer/Autumn so the 2 rooms were very hot over summer so be prepared.
