Mobile number spoofing

Scammers used to spoof UK landline numbers, now they use mobile numbers in an attempt to fool people, although I doubt many will be fooled by “bank security” calling from what looks like a mobile number (had that more than once).
On two occasions I have had a call from a stranger returning a missed call that I didn’t originate, suggesting my mobile number is being used by scammers.
Anyone else experienced strangers returning missed calls you haven’t made?

Yes, it happened for a short period and then the scammers stopped spoofing with my number and moved onto the next number.Frozen_up_north said:

I don't think the scammers like to keep the same spoofed number as it prevents them being blocked / tracked0 -
Yes, and most of the networks have put huge resources into blocking these.Grumpy_chap said:

The issue is that the scammers (mostly India) don't have to comply, but this will make it more difficult.'Just because its on the internet don't believe it 100%'. Abraham Lincoln.
