Hello,
Updating here, I sent the Defence after following all instructions and have now received a letter from the HM Courts & Tribunal Service saying they 'acknowledge receipt' and a copy will be served to the claimant. It says if the clamant doesn't proceed the claim will be stayed - is there anything I should do at this stage?
thank you

1) Study the 8 steps, because you are following them
2) Edit your thread title to something more suitable like
Name of Parking company, lawyers name, court claim 2025
So presumably

As you already know from the first 8 steps.
While your case is quietly working through the easy first stage letters that you know all about already, if you are angry about this farce and want to be part of the push to change things in future, it's very important that people like you join us to reply to the new Public Consultation.
We're encouraging posters subjected to court claims to tell the Government NOW that:
a) you have no faith in POPLA or the IAS and that there must be the SINGLE APPEALS SERVICE that the Parking (Code of Practice) Act 2019 promised. As long as it is independent (and only ONE appeals service, not two involved in a race to the bottom) that will give a real option to resolve disputed cases out of court.
b). THAT THE ENRICHMENT OF 'DEBT RECOVERY FEES' MUST BE COMPLETELY BANNED. DISPUTED CASES ARE NOT SOLVED BY A THUG THIRD PARTY DEMANDING MORE MONEY AND DOING NO MORE THAN OFFERING A POINTLESS 'PAYMENT PLAN'.
c). Tell them about your experience and that your case proceeded to a claim precisely because (a) and (b) above mean there is no option, no safeguard for consumers EXCEPT court.
Responses are invited to the Consultation now:

Do it in August pleeease! We will discuss it all in more detail in the coming weeks on that thread so do come back in a fortnight.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Please help here again - i've just today received another letter "NOTICE OF PROPOSED ALLOCATION TO THE SMALL CLAIMS TRACK' - there's a questionnaire.
it says i need to complete a form - does this mean a court appointment? I really thought this was over as i've heard nothing from the defendant since the last letter.
To note it says 'A COPY OF THE DEFENCE HAS ALREADY BEEN SENT TO YOU BY THE DEFENDANT' but i've had anything at all from them.
i don't believe its suitable for a small claims track...

Why do you not believe its not suitable for a small claims track
and yes it means it could go to a hearing, unlikely to (most likely discontinue)
All the help you need is on the newbies thread (s)2 -
"To note it says 'A COPY OF THE DEFENCE HAS ALREADY BEEN SENT TO YOU BY THE DEFENDANT' but i've had anything at all from them."
Just checking - you do realise you are the Defendant and that form is a copy that CNBC sent to the Claimant.

apologies i've now read the below thread which is very helpful!

can anyone tell me where to email this, instead of posting, as advised in the thread?I imagine I'm writing and scanning this?
Thank you0 -
Presumably the questionnaire is from CNBC and is the N180 your DQ. You can download one from here: -
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/form-n180-directions-questionnaire-small-claims-track
complete it and send it back to the email address you will find in the template defence thread. No posting required or recommended.2 -
Why are some posters not just following the first 8 steps? Same stage here earlier:https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/81636091/#Comment_81636091
Please tell us what isn't clear about the Template Defence first 8 steps? What needs improving please?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
