About letter boxes

Lived here 7yrs and for 6 the post goes as expected through the letter box.
The front door is in a glass enclosed porch with a sliding door.
I have asked postmen a time or two if they are ok with the sliding door and they look at me like I'm odd and say of course it's no problem.
This year my post is slung on the floor of the porch or on a chair there.
I put a small polite sign to please put post through the letter box.
Still on the floor.
I put a bigger sign on the door and left the porch door open.
Still slung on the chair so they had to step in to do that so it's not the size of the doorway.
It means all my banking details are there for anyone to pick up.
I have the easiest of all letter boxes to put stuff through as I've tried them all with Christmas cards.
Can anyone think of a logical reason why I'm singled out?
Tomorrow I'll go to the sorting office and have words with the manager but I'm fuming at being ignored and wonder if I'm missing something..
Tried to speak to a postie but they vary and can come from 11-3pm and they're swift.
The one I spoke to said he would always put them through the letter box but he'd mention it to one of the others.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

They've probably loaded more and more on the round and cut the time to do it all, either that or you have a different person on the round now who is obtuse.
Instead of the courier industry being regulated to improve standards, Royal Mil are being dragged down to the level of the others sadly.
Have to see what the DO say really. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces1 -
Why not put an external mail box up. That way they won't have to deal with the porch and your post isn't in full view
May not feel you should have to but it is a solution1 -
Hampshire that had crossed my mind 🙂
But why should I spend money and spoil the outside of my little bungalow when they had to lean past the actual door and letter box to dump them on a chair?
Most of the posties are lovely friendly lot. A couple have shifted plant pots when they saw me struggling.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Lock the porch door?0

Then she'd leave them on the bench in the rain.
I had someone leave a Christmas card there 😲I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

So anything they can do to save a few seconds at each door adds up. On top of that, posties have been injured by dogs (and a couple of cats*) when putting stuff through letterboxes. As a result, some are reluctant to use letterboxes when there is a safer alternative. Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.1 -
Where is the letter box? On the wall or on the front door that's inside the porch? ie to put it through the letter box do they have to open the sliding porch door and then put it through the letter box & then close the porch door again?0
-
Indeed. But she had to go past the letter box to put them on the chair.
No cats or dogs in the cul-de-sac.
This is my banking and medical information left in the open.
Yes that's right Andy but I've left the sliding door open for the last 2 months with the same result.
Letter box in front door directly opposite so instead of reaching straight ahead is going in the porch and dumping them on the chair.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

What happens to the post when you are on holiday or away in the morning, when presumably you have locked the sliding front door?0
-
Sliding door doesn't lock.
It means that when I go on holiday now all my post will build into a large pile to show I'm away.
And of course, all my personal details. Credit card details etc.
I really haven't done anything to upset this postie , never met her and she seems to be making a point now of not doing it.
I'll try and see the manager and be reasonable. Ask why and explain my concern. But it's not my preference as it's not going to make the situation comfortable because of course, that will be my fault.
I've always got on well in previous years. No idea why it's like this.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
