New fence quote

Hi everyone, please could you let me know what you think of the quote we have received for replacing a boundary fence at 20 meters long?
Dispose of old fence,
prune any hedges and plants prior to new fence
fit new posts (cost shared with neighbour)
attach 6ft overlap panel fence
£1600 with 50% deposit required (is this reasonable?)
Thank you

£1600 between you and neighbour? Sounds reasonable but will depend on where you live"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

As a rule of thumb, when estimating fencing for the properties i manage (non domestic) I look at £100/M for concrete posts, standard panels and gravel boards. So your quote does not seem too far off.
50% up front is not unusual for non domestic contracts

Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow..

Why not get another quote or two to compare to?
That will be infinitely more useful than strangers on the internet speculating whether a price you got was fair or not without having a clue on where you're based, the type of fence, how much prep or additional work is required, etc.

Thanks for your help everyone, sounds like its ballpark what they’ve quoted.0

Definitely go for concrete posts & gravel boards. If you go for wooden posts, you'll be replacing them again in 10-15 years time. Concrete posts will last a lifetime.

I'd always go with the environmental unfriendly concrete posts and gravel boards. They make it so much easier to take out and slot in new panels IMO.0
