Thanks all for the comments - glad I'm not alone in being a bit stumped!I do intend to stick to the usual including poor signage as outlined in an example from Paul Durston (can't post link but I did find it here!)Signage as requested, it's UKPC!

Wow that's faded. Unreadable. Was that taken this week? Wakefield?
I'm off to add this to my Parking Code useless signage evidence thread.

So there you go no mention of hatched areas of any kind, and a typical UKPC faded old sign, though the photo needs a date stamp!Don't forget UKPC always try to evidence undated office copies in any submission which needs to be rebuffed. It seems like there's an even more bizarre example here:

Two separate issues.
(i) The hatched area will have been provided for safety purposes. If you are waiting to cross there is a danger a long vehicle drives into the space and hits you.
The way the problem has been 'solved' (probably following a safety audit prior to sign off of the scheme, or as a result of someone actually being run over) is terrible, but it provides a cheap solution. Probably the former as it looks to have been hatched since the scheme was built. All other crossing points on the development have a planted area adjacent to the waiting point.
(ii) Enforcement is a different matter I'll leave others to respond to.0 -
It is faded granted, but it is certainly readable. If I can read it on a screen, anyone can read it in person.0

Here you go, originally planned in 2015 as 5 motorcycle spaces but obviously lost in translation:

Not if it 7 feet high, but if you had read it you would note that the hatchings aren't mentioned!1 -
Apart from the bit that says "No parking on yellow lines or in an area with hatched markings."Not if it 7 feet high, but if you had read it you would note that the hatchings aren't mentioned!2 -

Wow. Is that the justification that the IPC give when 'auditing' close up images of car park signs from the comfort of their armchairs?Kaizen2024 said:It is faded granted, but it is certainly readable.
