SPUSU - WARNING!

I ported my number across to Spusu from Lebara as Lebara uses the Vodafone network and the 5g coverage is almost non existent. Seeing as Spusu run on EE, which I've never had a problem with in all the years I've used MVNOs, I thought it was a good move. How wrong I could be!
Porting was smooth, no issues. The problem began when I kept getting text messages saying I'd got a voicemail, but the phone never rang. Signal was full 5g,speed was amazing, but calls didn't happen. Looking into it, I needed to turn on VoLTE to allow calls over the 4g network. But where was the setting on my not so money saving new phone? It was missing. I eventually got a reply from Spusu via WhatsApp and lo and behold they don't support VoLTE on all phones, only Samsung and Apple and a few Android devices! So, in a nutshell, my shiny new flagship phone can only make and receive calls over the ancient 2g network, as 3g had been switched off!
So, my impression of Spusu is a tin pot company playing at being a MVNO. You've been warned, unlike on MSE best buys.

They support a lot more than “a few” handsets. The list is pretty long.

All networks have this to some extent.

I presume you didn’t bother to check their website before moving?

How about making your warning even more useful by identifying your make/model of phone.

Why would I check when the blurb says they support Volte?

Honor magic 6 pro. Their list says Huawei P30 Pro is supported, I have one, I tried it, it's not supported.

Because no UK network has blanket support for Android handsets?

They also support WiFi Calling https://www.spusu.co.uk/vowifi , but a handset check is advised to make sure they support it for that particular handset.
WiFi Calling is essential for me, but all networks are poor locally.
I would consider using them but my Android handset isn't listed as being supported.

Why do you think this? Could you name the network(s)?

Glad I came across this thread just about to get shut of my Lebara 35p 7 month sim. Which has been at best pretty poor (only 4 months in and it's not the greatest coverage whilst away in the Lakes and or Wales as well as City centres). Have a Pixel 8 pro which according to the list is compatible with the volte . porting this week hopefully.
After another check my phone doesn't work with Wi fi calling so that's a deal breaker .
