Indeed it could be one of the angelica family.
My neighbour doesn't like gardening and part is full of mysterious things.
Lack of slugs generally in the garden at the moment due to it being bone dry despite recent rain.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Sorry, Dusty - you know you’ll never be made redundant though 😊
I’m on my phone, so can’t do what I did earlier, but from memory there was a 1% chance of it being elder. I can’t remember what else.'A watched potato will never chit'...1 -
I’ve managed to do it on my phone and it does say Sambucus Nigra (common elder) at 4%. My favourite though was Hairy Crabweed at 1% 😁'A watched potato will never chit'...1

Sapindus, I had a sniff at crushed leaf and it did have a mild smell but I'm not sure what of 🤔
It was a pleasant light vegetable smell, like some plants that used to be culinary or medical but pleasant.
Don't have much practice at smelling other than fragrant leaves.
I dug down the pot a bit to see if there were tubers but just soft stem.
I'll tip them out tomorrow and see as if they aren't Daliahs nothing lost, if they are they'll survive replanting.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

One benefit of being a 'conspiracy theorist' is having slug pellets that work.1 -
i planted a clematis 5 years ago but it just 'died.'
Not as much as a shoot or leaf since then until this year.
It has grown up the support and flowered profusely.
I have learned over the years not to be too quick to discard a plant that seems to have died.
The roots can be surviving under the soil.I have had some come back to life after a year but 5 years is a first.0 -

Watched Monty Don last night simply explaining clematis and pruning.
Explains why mine doesn't do well 😄
First edition this year just under half in I think.
Haven't got round to turning out the pot.
