Tesco Mobile Terrible Service
Options
I have a Tesco mobile pay monthly sim. Ever since joining I have noticed poor signal but have just dealt with it. I made a complaint after it causing a serious issue the other day and they said they will send a new sim out but will have a brief loss of signal on day of sim delivery what should be Tuesday or Wednesday next week. Today I suddenly noticed I have no signal and that my number doesn’t work anymore.
i have tried to talk to Tesco who have said tough luck and just wait for new sim.
i am disabled so need my phone to work for safety as well as other things.
Wheee do I stand in terms of just ending my contract and getting them to wave there early termination fee what would be around £150 due to there poor phone and customer service

i checked before and it shows everywhere I go is good indoors and outside. What I can confirm it definitely not0 -
It might be coverage and it could be a faulty handset.
Have you tried your current SIM in another handset?0 -
Are you saying the service was good for the first year but has recently deteriorated?
Tesco Mobile uses the O2 network. Exact dates vary but since the beginning of 2025 O2 has been progressively switching off all of its 3G masts. They are all switched off now.
Does your drop in service correspond with when O2 switched off 3G in your area?0 -
I was going to make a reference to Tesco Mobile using the O2 network and the 3G signal switch off. I have Tesco Mobile and have noticed some increase in drop-outs since the 3G was disabled, but not to the extent of annoyance.
My SIM-card is old (so I assume that might not be able to receive 5G) and my handset is definitely not 5G, so it does mean I am constrained to only one "band" of G's (if that is the correct phraseology). I suspect when I next change the phone it will have 5G so at that point it will make sense for me to check with Tesco Mobile about the SIM capability.0
