Hi there I want you to check your new increases if you believe the amount excessive because mine was. An annual for £515 for 2024-25 my increase would have paid “sw” £1147 annualky (work it out) over 100% increase. I rang and challenged it and it was dropped £948. Considering my usage for 2 persons. “Sw” said that computerising set the prices. We do not want another post office horizon. There was apologies but please check for peace of mind. Thank you

I had my water company do something similar a few years back. I kicked up a fuss and my water bills have been reasonable ever since. Looks like the companies are trying to take advantage of people who don't know/care what they're paying.

Prices are rising significantly, many people are also submitting meter reads and then that is bringing billing up top date and they have to catch up for previous underestimates. Non-metered usage is rising significantly.1

Are you referring to actual billing (real use) or a budget plan estimate?cleopetra said:Hi there I want you to check your new increases if you believe the amount excessive because mine was. All it sounds like you have done is change the budget plan payment and has nothing to do with the actual bill.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Most SW bills are metered so the only way to reduce your bill is to reduce the amount you use. If they've adjusted your payment that won't decrease your bill unless you reduce what you use. For a house of 3/4 we're currently at around 200 litres a day, way below the average but not really had to make massive changes to the way we use water. If there are only 2 of you then you should be paying around £750 as the increase in prices was approx 50%cleopetra said:Hi there I want you to check your new increases if you believe the amount excessive because mine was.
