Hi, I’m on the August V1 fix but it was a 15month version which expires this December. I also had the same message about fixing now, and below is the comparison of v1 Aug against the latest available fix. For me it ends up approx. £1 more expensive! But, will give me a fix through the winter. Still haven’t decide what to do yet because I am looking at going to their Intelligent Go EV tariff for electricity, and the new gas which I want to fix might be more expensive with the higher standing charge. (Need to work out how to check this).

I am with Octopus on their August v1 fix from 2024, fixed until Dec 2025 on these rates:
Elec - 23.44p per KWH / Standing charge 65.12 per day
Gas - 6.37p per KWH / Standing charge 28.91p per day

I have an option to fix now on their May 2025 fix for the next 12 months at the following:
Elec - 25.38p per KWH / Standing charge 52.90 per day
Gas - 6.11p per KWH / Standing charge 31.08p per day

How do your rates compare? If your saving around £30 then maybe yours differ to mine.

    Old Tariff
    Elect - 21.19p + 58.35p per day
    Gas - 5.52p + 27.34p per day
    New Tariff
    Elect - 24.91p + 43.76p per day
    Gas - 5.87p + 30.99p per day

It was a close run thing - but the saving in SC on elect is worth it !

I guess your household is a relatively low user of gas & electricity?

Yes - Electricity always under £1.50 per day -  Inc SC
Gas - generally less than SC !!
