Threaten to leave for 50% savings
I have been an ee SIM only customer for 10 years. I have 2 other numbers (daughter and wife) on my family account. When looking at getting my sons onto the account I researched other options and decided on Smarty. So I requested PACs from ee. Smarty's best deal was £8pm for 25GB with unlimited calls and texts.
Had a call from ee retention team yesterday and they offered me £6pm per SIM for 25GB. I was paying about £12pm for each SIM previously. So I'm staying with ee.
It does annoy me that you only get these deals when you threaten to leave, but if that's the game they want to play we should all be doing it!!
Whatever you are paying, whoever you are with. If you are out of contract, just request a PAC, wait 24 hours and see what their retention team offers you.

Yes you can get some outstanding deals when the customer service chap feels that you're seriously about to leave. I've had the same with Vodafone, Orange (back in the day) and Churchill Insurance (until I sold my car a couple of years ago).If you only use 2Gb a month, then isn't £4.50 per month for 5Gb with Lebara a much better deal for you than EE is offering? It sounds like their offer is amazing but I don't think it's as good as it first appears.0

Beware that new contract customers on EE can be charged for EU roaming, older contracts are OK but you might be classed as having a new contract... check if planning to travel as it can be expensive (circa £2.57/day or £15/7 days with an EU pass).1
