Subscriptions and memberships are often one of the first things to go when people think about tightening their belts, and given the sheer number of them available (and the ease of signing up) the costs can quickly add up.

Have you cancelled one since the start of 2025?

    I cancelled the last of my non-essential subscriptions (magazine) last year

    I cancelled my gym membership due to a planned 3 month road closure which will make it much harder to get there.
  • I cancelled Microsoft Gamebox because of Microsoft's treatment of employees over raising funds for Gaza.

    Joined a gym last August, used it regularly until Christmas, took a break for the holidays and lost motivation. 
    Recently I went through all my outgoings and that was the first to go!

    Cancelled N3tflix as I am too busy at this time of year to use it consistently. I may re subscribe when the clocks change again but I’m hoping my habits will have changed by then.

    As at 15.07.25:
    - When bought house £315,995 mortgage debt and end date at start = October 2039 - now £233,521
    - OPs to mortgage = £11,338 Interest saved £5225 to date
    Fixed rate 3.85% ends January 2030

    Read 37 books of target 52 in 2025, as @ 23rd July
    Produce tracker: £223 of £300 in 2025
