My contract with Octopus is finished, and I was looking at Outfox the Market for my dual-fuel electricity and gas. It's a company I've never been with. What's your experience with them, please?

Just switched from Octopus to Outfox as my fix was about to end, all straight forward, a lot cheaper for us. If Octopus had been competitive we would have stayed though. They DO NOT do variable Direct Debit though unfortunately.2

I was with Outfox for 2-3 years last decade. At the time they were cheap, no frills and their website provided the barest minimum of functionality. From recent reports they haven't changed 😀N. We have been with Outfox for five years now.
Never had a problem with them. They have a very simple monthly billing system, changing tariff is simple and takes a couple of clicks of a button and the website and app are clear and easy to understand.
They are always the cheapest option for us in our area.1 -
My deal with Outfox ends next month and I have happily signed up for another year with them, cheapest by far and my one time contact with customer services was a good experience.1

Thanks for the feedback, guys.0

Also if you are in a fixed tariff and they then offer a cheaper tariff you can switch to the cheaper tariff fee free.
We have just switched again to save a few quid.
Switching tariff is just a click of a button online. We are currently on a two year fix which was the cheapest for our area.1 -
That's my switch done, and it should be completed by June 11th. I'll keep an eye on my email. Very simple and straightforward.2

I've been with them a while and find them as cheap or cheaper than others, reliable re billing, helpful if I've needed to contact them. My only criticism is that they send me a monthly email which includes a prompt for readings to avoid an estimated bill when the smart meter works fine. When I commented on this they replied that they had to do this for all customers whether smart metered or not (clearly they don't!)1
