Ovo & Ohme parting ways
What are my rights as I got an Ohme charger for the very reason that it worked with Ovo?
My Kia Niro is not compatible with charge anytime. And I am fixed currently.
Am I able to leave without incurring exit fee due to change in circ?

I'm in the same boat. I've emailed them to find out what's going on.
Either they replace the charger for free, as it was compatible with their tariff upon installation a year ago, or they let me switch to another provider (Octopus most likely) with no charges.0 -
Yes I will email them too I think. Glad it’s not just me then. So frustrating as I picked the charger specifically for tue compatibility.aidnolan said:I'm in the same boat. I've emailed them to find out what's going on.

As it seems to be OVO who are making the changes that make your existing equipment incompatible from July then they should release you from the contract without exit fees. The terms and conditions say you must have a compatible vehicle or charge point. You currently have a comparable charge point but the only reason you won’t from July is because of changes they have made.

Unfortunately not, your fix with applicable exit charges remains the contract you signed, though they may well be willing to negotiate.NikChik84 said:What are my rights as I got an Ohme charger for the very reason that it worked with Ovo?My Kia Niro is not compatible with charge anytime. They do not have to do either of those and it very unlikely that they will do the former, they may well be willing to negotiate on the latter, but again, you have no right to it.aidnolan said:I'm in the same boat. I've emailed them to find out what's going on.

Weirdly they do not support Ohme which is the most popular home charger and PodPoint which I think is the second most popular, so it seems an odd setup. The OP mentions a Kia Niro, the e-Niro and the Niro Hybrid are now added as part of their Beta, so it may well be that their vehicle is compatible now although it was not previously.Keep_pedalling said:As it seems to be OVO who are making the changes that make your existing equipment incompatible from July then they should release you from the contract without exit fees. The terms and conditions say you must have a compatible vehicle or charge point. Time to switch to Octopus IOgo. Enjoy the daytime charging at off peak rate including home use. 👍So long as you do not go for the £30 fix.Life in the slow lane0

Same here. This is really gathering some pace on the OVO forums too.I have emailed octopus to see if they are compatible with my eGolf before I investigate exiting.0

Intelligent Octopus Go needs either a compatible charger (and the Ohme ones are compatible, I've got one) or a compatible vehicle (and our eUP! would be compatible if we paid the £90/yr VW wanted for it, but we don't).ydt88 said:I have emailed octopus to see if they are compatible with my eGolf before I investigate exiting.N. The 32kWh model is but so is your Ohme charger so switching should be no problem.ydt88 said:Same here. This is really gathering some pace on the OVO forums too.I have emailed octopus to see if they are compatible with my eGolf before I investigate exiting.0
