I have a ten-year-old Samsung Smart TV and a five year-old  Humax Freeview Recordable box.

After a while, ITV Hub changed to ITV  X and I got a message to say that it was no longer supported on my set-up.  I believe that this is because the TV is too old and I  also needed the latest  box to support ITV X.

Is there any way I can get ITV X without getting a new TV or a  new box?

If ITV X does not work on your box or TV then the only way to get it is to do one of the following:
    • buy a new TV
    • buy a new box
    • buy another device for ITV X

If you've got a Samsung Galaxy phone you can use Smartview to mirror ITV X to your TV (probably) or buy a Chromecast (HD or 4K) cheap on eBay and cast to the set from the app on your phone.

No need to ditch your TV or box if you're still happy with them (but a good excuse to upgrade if you're not).

Any currently supported Roku, Chrome TV, Fire TV, Apple TV etc box will do the trick.

I do have a Samsung Galaxy phone, but couldn't work out how to do it.  A quick check on Chat GPT suggests that my TV does not support this service.  Probably too old!

Thanks all once again.  My TV is beginning to show its age in other ways so I will probably upgrade within the next year.  Until then, I will have to watch ITV X on my phone or desktop computer (I don't have a laptop).
