We use the HG range of products - their mould spray is good, and lasts well. Shouldn't be used on ceilings.  Spray on, leave for 20 minutes ish, then wipe off. I've found it's a better than a ton of bleach. It stinks for about half a day.

Have you had the fan checked to make sure it's working as effectively. Our old house didn't have a fan, but we left the window open all the time. Only time we had any real mould appear was if the kids didn't open the window after showering in the winter. The old grout came up shiny and new after treating before we sold up.

If you’re looking to clean it up I found an amazing product which cleaned similar mould under window. Spay with ‘Astonish mould and mildew blaster’. Leave on, don’t wipe away. Gone in 20 minutes. Absolute miracle and less than £2.00!
It's worth mentioning that this stuff is basically just bleach, so you can use thick bleach just as well.
I’ve tried bleach and a number of other products, nothing came close to the job that the Astonish product did though.

A mould-resistant silicone might help, but I'm sceptical as to whether it really will work in your case.

Changing the fan for a humidistat-controlled one is the first thing to try. Then a mould-resistant silicone. If that doesn't work, get rid of the shower or replace the bath with a shower cubicle that doesn't need silicone.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

Do you dry it every time you have a shower?

Thanks for all your replies.  The fan was installed earlier this year.  We discovered that the ducting in the loft just ended up against the wall.  It wasn't extracting anything. We had the fan and ducting replaced and a tile vent added on the roof.

We're hoping to replace the whole bathroom next year, so we'll bear in mind the suggestions about humidistat and mould proof silicone.
