I have still received no confirmation from DCB legal that my Data Rectification Notice has been actioned!

However I have just received this letter in the post. Do I need to do anything?

Just means VCS have sent it to Elms instead. Search the forum to read how that pans out!

1) It is a debt collection letter (see the 14 days)
2) Was it addressed to your correct address?

On 7th October I received this ‘letter before claim’ from ELMS Legal. I have searched through the forum and in particular at newbies post 2. This claim is regarding an alleged contravention 46 Stopping in a zone where stopping is prohibited.

The first letter I ever recieved regarding this incident was from dcbl on 9th may 2025. Earlier letters (if sent at all) must have been sent to my previous address. I was given no chance to appeal and have not received any evidence (photographic or otherwise) regarding where my vehicle was supposed to have stopped or for how long.

It is possible that that stopped area was outside the area where VCS area contracted to operate AND that the time it was stopped for is very short. Is it possible for me to demand this evidence in order to prepare my defense?

I have researched on line for am email address for ELMS Legal and believe I can use info@elmslegal.co.uk. Should I email them requesting photographic evidence or just wait and see if a county court claim is issued?

I have read with great interest this post (https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6439643/parking-charge-for-stopping-at-bristol-airport/p6) and plan to use many of these arguments if the need arises.

Yep.  More than likely it will be. It's at the Witness Statement stage that you will receive the VCS evidence. The Bristol Airport cases all seem to fizzle out (but it won't be quick). Look at recent successful cases and note the way they have been handled .... you will be able to use those as a framework for your own Defence.

As well as the thread by Boudouche you have quoted above, you should research the thread by RRTechie, especially as the latter is based on the most recent VCS - BA Ltd contract that replaced the one in force at the time of Boudouche's case.

If you send me a PM with a throwaway email address that you won't use for anything else, I will send you an unredacted copy of the current contract. 
From that you will be able to determine if the location of your alleged event was within or without VCS's contracted area.

I would like a photo of the place where my vehicle was supposed to have stopped and the time it was stopped for. I live over 100 miles away so can't go back to check and anyway its so long ago that the driver can't recall exactly where it was.

Should I send an email to ELMS legal requesting this information-or to VCS or to dcbl- or to all 3?
