1p Mobile - no customer service!

I have a minor query with 1p, and I am a customer. I filled out their on-line form, but after several days no response.

I have tried their 0333 344 2278 customer service number many times, no answer.

I do like their 14GB roaming and reasonable prices, but a total lack of support is a concern.

Anyone had any luck contacting them?

Thanks

    Yes - by Live Chat.

I have never got through to them on the phone, and email (I've found anyway) is only answered if initiated by them via Live Chat.

Thanks, I tried the “live” chatbot and think the first request was via that route. I will try again next week.

As part of Utility Warehouse/Telecom Plus group, I would have expected better service.

Yes, filled in the contact form and had a reply via email in a few hours.

No problem. Best of luck - longest wait I've had on chat is about 5 minutes or so so you should be fine.

Yes, I agree, I would have thought they'd be easier to get hold of by phone for one.

That being said, I had a Utility Warehouse sim only (UW) for a while some time back. While the service worked well enough, dealing with customer service was an odd experience (the app giving expected phone queue length was a nice touch though). One thing was a little amusing though - if I called 150 from the UW sim (rather than the usual 0333xxxxxxx number/s for UW's own customer service) I was greeted with the message 'thank you for calling 1p Mobile customer service'... make of that what you will.

Wow, finally received a reply to my query. Took about a week.

The "chatbot" didn't fail to answer, so for that reason it wouldn't connect me to a real person. The phone number rings then an auto answer says nobody is available and hangs up.

    0/10 for customer service

I got through by being very persistent, I don't know if this triggers something on their telephone system to be like "okay they REALLY want to talk, put them through"

Basically the first couple of tries I got the automated message saying they're busy and to try again later or use the online options which include live chat.  No queue, it just essentially tells you go away.

Went onto the "live chat" which is just a useless AI slop-bot that couldn't help with my issue and refuses to put you through to a human being, so I decided to just brute force their phone number.

Called them again and it actually rang for a bit then call terminated
    Called again, call immediately terminated
    Called again, 1 ring, terminated
    Called again, they answered.

On the positive side when you do finally get through to them, they're clearly local and not some call centre on the far side of the world.  Pretty refreshing for a budget MVNO.
