Well, if you don’t believe them?

Hello all,

I had a car finance agreement with a company called accept car credit, I emailed them asking if they participated in the Discretionary interest scheme, I flatly denied it, However, I have my suspicions that they may not be telling the truth?

How do I check?

Stu.

Provide your evidence to back up your allegation.  If you have none, then you don't make unfounded allegations against them.

Their website states they are a direct lender.  Why do you think they are not a direct lender and use brokers?

I cannot see any company that could possibly be subject to FCA action telling porkies.

Do you mean discretionary commission, which is the current investigation or interest?

I presume you mean THEY flatly denied it.

Unless you have evidence that they were lying, you go nowhere.

Firms get huge fines e.g. Clydsdale (iirc) were fined £20m for pretending they had deleted old PPI data

Firms have nothing to gain by lying about it now not least because the FCA and courts may decide this is something of nothing and close it all down

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
