It isn't only Malaga... I had such a disappointment when flying out of Krakow with a friend. We went through passport control, and then discovered that the lounge was in the Schengen area, so we could not use it. My unused lounge passes expired soon afterwards.

I can't think of many lounges which are after passport control in Europe (one exception: Madrid has one for non-Schengen gates) as you don't need to show a passport for intra-Schengen flights.

Last time I went to Krakow they had a non-Schengen lounge, is that not there anymore?

That experience was November 2024. I could not see a non-Schengen lounge, and the staff on duty said that there wasn't one.

Fair enough, they must have got rid of it.

Barcelona. It's about a two minute walk to the gate from there usually and its a nice lounge. Berlin is a Schengen lounge but it has it's own dedicated passport control. Budapest is after passport control. And most of the international places like AMS, Paris etc all have. non Schengen lounges.

Add OSL to the list with both Schengen and non-Schengen lounges.

Also bear in mind at Malaga airport the lounge may NOT be past the non-Schengen passport check, heard stories of awful queues to get to those gates. You may not actually be at the airport long enough to actually get the use out the lounge bearing this in mind, depending when your airline allows you to check bags in from.
We had that issue at Madeira just earlier this week. This is very common in holiday destinations where the only non-Schengen flights are to the UK.

There was an offer to get a free DragonPass through Club Avolta, for what that's with?
