What you have posted is a Witness Statement. That comes later in the court process and is where you talk about signage etc. and supply photographs ie. exhibits, and it is written in first person.

Your defence is written is written in the third person and is a general overview, with one paragraph summising the situation.

Go and read the newbie thread and look at the template defence.

He needs neither at the moment. It's well back from any possible court claim. Just being overthought.  Unnecessary.  Prior advice to 'get on with life' still applies, until such time any LoC arrives.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Folllwing this with interest, I had the same PCN with a different McD in east London also managed by MET. PCN for being offsite.
Mine is a little different, I was on-site throughout the 15 mins I was there enjoying my McFlurry. PCN for 'being off-site.' Picture proof of my vehicle there 5 mins apart (yes I was there enjoying my McFlurry). Ran into the warden in the McDs asking for ppl's VRM on the day, I offered mine, warden said it was ok, he saw me enter, and pointed correctly to my car and that he will note it down. He didn't! No kiosk to input VRM for dining like some places have.

Went to speak to the McDs manager today, he checked CCTV back then, indeed I was there speaking to the warden on the self-servcie kiosk wearing a certain colour, which was correct! Manager said he will attempt to cancel it. He said what all have said in this forum, DO NOT PAY it!
Else manager said I should appeal it including that I have spoken to the manager (include name) of the McDs site and that he confirms I was onsite after checking CCTV. If no cigar, come back week after and he will try again to use one of his 'cancel PCN' powers. As I have a leased car, haven't got the PCN in 'my name yet' but I know it's coming as was made aware of it.

I do have dashcam footage of me entering and exiting McD and of couse the receipt on my purchase. Guess I will use that if it goes to court.

Also I am perhaps one of the rare/lucky ones who have been fortunate with private PCNS, twice CPM have cancel them at the first appeal, and once Link parking (thanks to advise here) cancell after 2nd appeal. I'm hoping this one will go away easilly at the first appeal, else I'll be back (starting a new thread).

Out of curiosity, can you not go to the said Leytonstone MCD, ask to speak to the manager, ask how the warden checks who remains on site, show your receipt you were present on site on the date? Please note in my case the MCD manager canceled it for me.

Pic proof on the MET payment site only showed a pic of my vehicle present 7 mins or so apart. I'm sure there isn't a pic of you leaving the site

I thought about that but then I read many others who have tried that approach and got told none of their business basically. Met also stated on POPLA that : "should a motorist wish to leave the premises for any reason their vehicle should be taken with them. Making a purchase in the restaurant does not exempt a motorist from the requirement to remain on the premises."  Which clearly means my argument is nothing to do with me being a customer or not but the argument is basically that I briefly left the building. The thing is, I told MET on my first appeal to them that I briefly left the building to pray at a near by Mosque. It's not that I went to shop around. It was on Friday, this Friday prayer is a weekly one and only done during certain time, so couldn't be delayed. Getting chased and charged a £100 for briefly doing a religious act sounds insensible and might be viewed by the Court as acting against my basic human rights. I'm not claiming immunity from parking terms. Rather, I'm saying that the enforcement of the terms was rigid, disproportionate and failed to accommodate a fundamental human right! That was presented to POPLA as well by MET in their statement, and obviously was unconsidered as they rejected my appeal.

Why on earth did you admit to leaving the site? No matter. Bad mistake though. Of course you lost on appeal, having dropped that clanger.

How are you getting on with the defence? You saw that the Template Defence massively changed last week? Are you out of time?

Yes, terrible mistake... So far I only received their letter requesting the full payment after popla rejected my appeal. I didn't pay and didn't hear from them since. Has been about 1-2 months now. I didn't do anything further, although thought about complaining to the MP. But didn't do anything so far.

Have you received a letter of/before claim or a N1SDT claim form?

In which case, stand at ease, until/if you receive a Letter Of/Before Claim from the PPC's solicitors, or a County Court Claim via the Northampton CNBC, come back to this thread for further advice.

To get ahead of the curve, you could prepare yourself with a bit of gentle reading of the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, second post, and the Template Defence Announcement, both situated near the top of the forum thread list.
