I will find the instructions when I get a minute, in case it helps others on this thread. My son currently has savings at 12% with virgin due to run out next month so he might want an edge saver if it's possible to get without paying the edge account fee.
There is a way of qualifying for the switching bonus and not triggering the cashback.1: Ensure your donor account (the account you’re switching out) does not have any direct debits on it.2: Open your Edge account and start your switch.3: In the first month that your Edge account is open deposit your £1,500. Do not create any direct debits.4: In the second month that your Edge account is open create your 2 direct debits. Do not deposit £500 or more into the account. You have now qualified for the switching bonus without triggering the cashback requirement (and £3 monthly fee).If you want to keep the Edge account without paying the £3 monthly fee, cancel the direct debits and make sure not to deposit £500 or more into the account every month. This will prevent the cashback requirement from triggering.

One point, if they stick to their T&Cs the DD should be cancelled after receiving the £180.PRAISETHESUN said:There is a way of qualifying for the switching bonus and not triggering the cashback.1: Ensure your donor account (the account you’re switching out) does not have any direct debits on it.2: Open your Edge account and start your switch.3: In the first month that your Edge account is open deposit your £1,500. Didn't realise there was a PDF with a much bigger list at first, I thought it was just limited to the very small list of big brands that's on the website.
Also, when searching the list, if a company doesn't show up, try searching for the name in a slightly different way, such as with/without spaces, since some of them are listed with spaces, but some without.
For instance, "ID Mobile" shows nothing, but "IDmobile.co.uk" (no spaces) IS listed. Not sure why it's listed as a website when many (all?) others aren't but just be aware when searching.1 -
Santander offers £180 to switch current account - but also axes one popular Edge perk
Above link says:
The bank will pay £180 to new and existing customers
But someone above said:
You cant have held a Santander current account on 1 Jan 25.
Which is correct?

I noticed that, and having checked my recent 123lite statement it is included for cash back. I had previously searched and not found it, but I liked the lower bill with id so I went with them anyway.GreenScepter said:Didn't realise there was a PDF with a much bigger list at first, I thought it was just limited to the very small list of big brands that's on the website.

I pay 28 a month for the 4 of us. I could sacrifice 2 of those £7 contracts for my son's switch.
ID do have cheaper sim deals than that though, if anyone is struggling for a household direct debit.0 -
Lebara mobile are in the list of household direct debits. Their 1 month sims start from £1 a month according to the MSE sim only deals guide.
(people might need 2 different contracts if setting up both as new. When I set up ID mobile contracts they wouldn't let me buy 2 in the same month. The rejection email said they wanted to see how I conducted my first account for a month before letting me have another. I got around it by my husband getting it in his name instead, but that's only an option for joint accounts)

Thanks. I remember checking my account for a statement so I knew when my second month started, so as not to set up the direct debits too early 😁PRAISETHESUN said:
