Dangerous problem with 2025 Tiguan

Have took delivery of a new 2025 Tiguan. The car is not safe to drive. Its drive assist system is not working as it should be. The car keeps making an emergency stop sensing a front end collision when there are no vehicles in front. The braking is violent which triggers the horn and hazard lights to go on. A rear end collision is waiting to happen. I avoid motorways for obvious reasons. I read recently another Tiguan driver had the same problem happen whilst in the fast lane of the motorway. Because of the violent braking it caused a multiple rear end pile up. Luck to be alive to tell the story. I now want Volkswagen to take it back and refunded.

Any other new Tiguan owners having similar problems with the driver assist system?
I am having similar issues car been in VW dealership for 5 weeks now refusing to take it back its not fit for purpose have complained to the dealership/ customer services / VWFS and last night CEO as I have had enough. We are full time carers for my dad 92 who lives with us and NEED a reliable car. They have come back with 3 offers to solve issue all of which leave us out of pocket - not fair and reasonable action from a brand where we have been custoemrs for 15years . Disgusted mentally drained and emotionally exhausted

  • If anyone has had their car less than 6 months and you have ongoing issues you can reject the car and ask VW to take it back and obtain a refund. We sadly are past the 6 months but were promised in Feb 25 any further issues we will take it back ...... not happened so far despite 6 trips to garage - 4 AA call outs and 18 faults on last trip in to their garage.  If they tell me one more time its a software issue I will scream

Took delivery of ours in June and it’s given me a sore neck from slamming on the brakes. Even in reverse it does it but that one can’t be disabled only the front. If I can’t have it disabled permanently I. Will a reject the car and request a refund

Have you tried disabling it in the settings? I will turn back on every time you start the car, but at least you can drive it while you negotiate with VW to get it fixed.
