I am having similar issues car been in VW dealership for 5 weeks now refusing to take it back its not fit for purpose have complained to the dealership/ customer services / VWFS and last night CEO as I have had enough. We are full time carers for my dad 92 who lives with us and NEED a reliable car. They have come back with 3 offers to solve issue all of which leave us out of pocket - not fair and reasonable action from a brand where we have been custoemrs for 15years . Disgusted mentally drained and emotionally exhaustedneil99 said:Have took delivery of a new 2025 Tiguan. The car is not safe to drive. Its drive assist system is not working as it should be. The car keeps making an emergency stop sensing a front end collision when there are no vehicles in front. The braking is violent which triggers the horn and hazard lights to go on. A rear end collision is waiting to happen. I avoid motorways for obvious reasons. I read recently another Tiguan driver had the same problem happen whilst in the fast lane of the motorway. Because of the violent braking it caused a multiple rear end pile up. Luck to be alive to tell the story. I now want Volkswagen to take it back and refunded.
Any other new Tiguan owners having similar problems with the driver assist system?

If anyone has had their car less than 6 months and you have ongoing issues you can reject the car and ask VW to take it back and obtain a refund. We sadly are past the 6 months but were promised in Feb 25 any further issues we will take it back ...... not happened so far despite 6 trips to garage - 4 AA call outs and 18 faults on last trip in to their garage. If they tell me one more time its a software issue I will scream1

Took delivery of ours in June and it’s given me a sore neck from slamming on the brakes. Even in reverse it does it but that one can’t be disabled only the front. If I can’t have it disabled permanently I. Will a reject the car and request a refund0

Have you tried disabling it in the settings? I will turn back on every time you start the car, but at least you can drive it while you negotiate with VW to get it fixed.0

I have a brand new 2025 model Tiguan bought in February this year.I rejected a brand new 2025 Tiguan bought in November 2024 because after only 3 weeks of ownership the brake servo failed.I had to have the vehicle recovered via VW assist. Basically I got into the car in a car park, tried to drive away and the red brake failure light came on. Everything rise electronic then shut down item by item. Finally the main computer screen also stopped working with the ignition on. It was freezing cold and I tried to put the heated seat on to keep warm. But the tab for the seat disappeared from the screen!
the AA man who recovered the car for me took one look and said: I’ve been to one like this recently I think the servo has failed.
he was right!I rejected the car and got my 2nd brand new Tiguan. It’s been back into workshops twice now for random turning off of the auto hold brake!!
plus other software issues.
VW maintain there is nothing showing up when plugged into the diagnostic machine. They are not acknowledging the dangerousness of this happening, just telling me to monitor and record when it happens?!
they also insist they have no other people reporting similar issues.
i have told them there are lots of people online discussing this and other front aissist issues.
Party line is: we are not allowed to monitor social media from the showroom!!
nie about to open a complaint with customer care as I feel they are not taking the problem seriously,0 -
VW are almost as good at corporate denial as Jaguar Land Rover. They haven't changed in 30 years.0

I‘m also having trouble with my Tiguan. It is in VW dealership due to a recall with software issues ie emergency braking system.
when reversing onto my driveway at 1 mile an hour! Braking so fearsomely I think I have hit something.
it‘s been with them 8 days and have not received a phone call or any information when it will be ready.
I sent an email to VW in Germany with my concern, only to receive a complaint number, not saying anything about what it can do.
