DGs spending/debt/challenge diary - bring it on!

This will be my spending + debt + challenge diary.

Debt
MBNA = 1440
HFC = 2928
Barclaycard = 997
Capital One = 2582
TSB OD = ?
TSB CC = 2484
TSB Loan = 5890
First National = 907
Lowell = 297.79

On DMP with Payplan since March 2006, I am currently trying to work out which creditors are still charging me interest plus other things L
How do I find out what my OD is with TSB? I moved banks when I started the DMP. Do I just ring them up? I have a bank down on my credit file as being closed with a balance of £205 could this be it?

Incomings/outgoings

Income = 1236

Outgoings -
Rent = 376.00
DMP = 268.50
Mum = 50
Mobile = 35
Travel = 40
Web host = 5
TOTAL = 774.50

I-O = 461.50

Ice Skating = 55 (only term times, £9 a week otherwise)
Roller Skating = 25
Food = 50

LEFT = 331.50

Savings (emergencies/tuition/debt payment at end of year etc) = 200
Spending = 131.50 so 30 ish a week budget and seeing as I don’t go out I shouldn’t spend all that, I just have to stay away from ebay J

You will probably say stop the Ice & Roller skating but I haven’t actually started them yet and these will be like my only social life. My OH also has no money (he has nothing much left after rent, house bills, food & travel) so we really don’t go out much + plus don’t see him much either.
Plus people say don’t save but I’m not really saving just putting money aside for emergencies/tuition & if I have anything left at the end of the year I pay off some more of my debt.

Challenges

Live on £3000 a Year Challenge #101 Current Balance = £1.29
Slicethepie = £0.55/£30 a month
Pay off £5k in a year = £268.50/£5000

Extra money

Daily clicks = £50.53
Surveys = £6
Slicethepie = 55p
Mystery shopping =

This site has mad me feel happy about myself for the first time in a long time J I think if people with more debt than me can become debt free then so can I!

I’m looking at a second job but I have uni 1 or 2 evenings a week so I’m not sure if that is a good idea.
Thankfully all household bill including TV & bb are inclusive of the rent.

    making progress :)

    Uni are finally contacting me about moving from double to single honors yay hope to have it sorted by next week.

    I have set up a workbook with excel. It contains 4 sheets.
    1. Budget which includes - rent, debt, mobile, travel, Littlewoods, web host,
    mum, Ice Skating, R skating, Food in one column and another column contains spending, saving
    2. spending each month, this total goes into the spending cell in the budget sheet
    3. £3k challenge. This is just a list of the totals spent each month & comes from sheet 4.
    4. spending. this is different to number 2 as it includes payment to mum, roller + ice skating, travel and anything else not on the budget sheet.

    May sound strange but this way I have a budget & can tell what I have left to spend, plus some of what is included in the overall budget is included in the challenge so couldn't use the same spending sheet.

    So my nan isn't well. She's 95 this year and lives in a flat by herself. I don't think I saw her much if at all last year, my dads side of the family don't really keep in touch (know none of my scottish family, rarely see or speak to my nan or aunt & family).
    She's thinking she's back at work (alzimers) and has a cold.

    So my one night out in forever isn't happening :( Was meant to meet my OH in the pub for a drink but he decided to tell me that the DLR isn't running. I checked the live departure board on TFL site and all looks fine, DLR is running Lewisham to Bow Church. He doesn;t like crowds so wouldn't get the bus.
    Meant to be seeing him Sunday so we'll see.

    :mad: I want my CC statments (can't believe I'm actually saying that). I just want to know the actual amounts I owe and the charges, if any, and update payplan as well as my budget.

    Have £119.90 left to last till 21st but I think I have DD return charges to come out :mad:

    Plans for the weekend:
    - workout what books & CDs I don't want & list on Amazon.
    - do a small food shop

    Transfered £30 into my savings account today, I can always transfer it back if needed.

    Is it best to be over drawn but have cash to live on or not over drawn & have no money to live on? I think I have charges coming out my account this month so thats why I transfered the money so if I am charged, depending on the amount, I may not have enough in my account, will they make me over drawn or just not take the charges? I don't have an overdraft facility.

    Hi debrag,

    if you're expecting charges I would put that money back in your current a/c. They will charge you again if your previous cahrges put you overdrawn. Also ring them up to see if there are actually charges to make sure that the £30 covers it.

    Lol.

    I looked at my paper statement & it's £150 :eek: which will be taken 28 days from the date of the statement (24th Dec) so will be 21st Jan the day I get paid again - thanks god!!! I should have £70 left from this months wages plus the £30 I transfered. I have £10 in cash and don't need to buy anything till payday so no more should be coming out.

    I think I shall be writing to HFC tomorrow. I pay £38.85 a month to them via payplan, looking at my latest statement my min payment is £38.90 (5p lower than what I am paying) and my interest will be £32.38, I may even get a late payment as I did last month!!!!!
    So tomorrow my balance will go from £2326.12 to £2319.65/2331.65 if thats the case my balance is going up each month :eek:
