How do I lift this drain cover?

It's always a wise move to check your manhole covers are easily located and removed. Always should be one of the first jobs when moving in to a new house, as well as checking the stopcock and smoke alarms work.Chickereeeee said:

At least you know where the manhole is.
This is more pre-emptive inspection, though.
