Cityfibre using BT Openreach cable?

Its absolutely not allowed for CF to reuse the Openreach connection from the pole to your home to save themselves the trouble of putting their own cable up , if the same CF techs turn up , or different ones for that matter , and they propose the same thing , you should tell them that you know it’s not allowed and it’s not really on for them to suggest it to you , although it’s not likely you would get into trouble, unless you did try to return to Openreach in the future , when clearly this misuse of Openreach equipment would become apparent

Openreach equipment belongs to OR , not City Fibre , they should put their own cable up alongside the Openreach one , even if you don’t like the idea of that .

If you don’t want two cables , two outside boxes on the wall (OR call theirs a CSP) and two ONT’s inside , you could say you want Sky to use the OR network not CF , although that may be more expensive or may not have symmetrical download/upload speeds .

If you don’t mind two separate networks (drop wires, CSPs, ONT’s ) , don’t accept what’s easy for these CF installers , you don’t benefit from it , just them getting onto their next job early so earning themselves a few more £££, in fact you should really report this to CF via Sky to either retrain or discipline these installers, as what they suggest , using the OR drop wire , is bordering on the illegal and reflects badly on CF , portraying them as untrustworthy and borderline criminal organisation.

Thanks for you prompt reply - that's very clear. I will get them to do the full cable install as I don't want to end up with something dodgy that will complicate future provider switches.
