Cahoot Question

I opened a Simple Saver account today. I put a few thousand into it and then tried to withdraw £1 as a check. It wouldn’t do it, and gave me an odd error message:
“Order not allowed due to notices in the account attention!”
Can anyone tell me what that means? I really hope they haven’t done something like freeze the account, because access to that money is needed this coming week.

It's not uncommon for certain banks to restrict withdrawals for a short time after opening an account, so I'd check the account T&C's.
Yorkshire BS are one example of a bank or building society who do this that I've personally come across.1 -

Good to know that Santander haven't changed that bit of software for ten years

Guess it means you can't withdraw from that account. Whether it's a one day hold because you only opened that account today or they have another reason you'll have to ask them.1
