    Hi All

    I just thought I'd say thank you for your all of your suggestions for our impending gathering next week. I've decided on the following;

    Pulled chicken
    Baps
    Home made wedges
    Homemade Coleslaw
    Salad
    Nachos
    Mexican rice with beans / Pesto Pasta - for the vegetarians /vegans

    Brought the chicken, pasta, pesto, tortilla crisps and seasonings today. Noted the prices of other things I'll buy next week. I think it should come to £50 /£2 per head all in.  I'll update on the July thread.

    Well the nectarine and chilli chutney was a triumph!

    Two punnets of nectarines made two jars of chutney, one to keep and one to give to my daughter who was desperate to try some.  You are right @K9sandFelines it is quite hot - I like spicy things, but anyone trying the recipe who likes their chutneys a little milder may want to really reduce the chilli content. I used one large red chilli, grated into the mix from frozen including the seeds. I might omit the seeds next time.

    I couldn’t find my yellow mustard seeds in the spice cupboard (odd, I know I have some!) so I substituted half a teaspoon of Colman’s yellow mustard powder but otherwise followed the recipe. I would definitely make this again, it will be fab in sandwiches or alongside cold meats. It’s similar to mango chutney but not nearly as sweet.
    That's exactly what I thought, very close to mango. So glad I omitted the heat.i added black mustard seeds, but I'm sure anything similar works
    I wonder if there are some other flavour profiles I've not thought of yet for chutney?
