If it has 12 months MOT it is easily worth £250.If you are thinking of paying £250 for it as an MOT failure and doing all the work yourself with no labour cost, depends on how much for the suspension components. If you are thinking of paying £250 for it as an MOT failure and paying garage rates to fix it, definitely not with that list of advisories, especially the corrosion.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

Thank you and yes theres no MOT but because its so cheap i feel i’m missing out on a bargain but its shame as my car knowledge is close to NIL0

There's 2 fail items for brake-related and 6 advisories relating to corrosion/deterioration to brakes. Without getting on my knees and needing to look at the underside of the car closely, that tells me its somewhere between "used" and "looks like its been in an ocean for a while". Dismantling the NSR brake to try fix the parking brake issue could soon snowball into replacement of many components as things snap off or start leaking once disturbed.
Or it could be a squirt of WD40 and a hammer blow in exactly the right place fixes it.
If, by your own admission your car knowledge is close to NIL, then I'd foresee the job progressing in the former direction, not the latter.
Then there's the other 5 fail items to fix; and the other 7 advisory items, two of which are tyres and can't really be ignored, the other being a strong advisory (ie its on the edge of a fail, but just squeaks in). So its really at least 10 items to fix there.
Given the age and the value/desirability of the car, I'd forget about this one.1 -
I wouldn't think that wreck comes under the category of "reliable runaround" especially for someone who cannot do their own repairs.2

If your budget is really low, and you are not into doing work on cars, then you are just looking for something with 12 months MOT, and a 50/50 chance of getting through the next one.
You might find one for £1000
£250 is scrap value1 -
£250 and ‘reliable runaround’ is bicycle territory in my neck of the woods. It wouldn’t even buy a moped with an MOT.Unless you have the mechanical ability and a ready supply of spares this isn’t the one for you0

The failures will be easy to fix and not too expensive. Get both front suspension items done at the same time. You will then have a car for a year and can tackle the rest at your leisure.
Just pray the next MOT examiner agrees about the advisories and doesn't upgrade them to a fail. Its a 20 year old car and all are age related. Get an opinion on the subframe costs.0 -
how much will the total be for repairs?0

Also, bear in mind, the car will (or may) have other issues in addition to those picked up by the MoT failure.0 -
