Responding to a claim form from DCB Legal on behalf of UKPC

Options
Hi,
Thanks for all the information on these forums, I have read through the NEWBIES!! PRIVATE PARKING TICKET and the Template defence threads I have filled the AOS online and I am now ready to file the actual defence, it mentions emailing the defence but I haven't seen anything about filing online, I am wondering should one NOT file online but rather email?

    Hello and welcome.

What is the Issue Date on your Claim Form?

Upon what date did you file an Acknowledgment of Service?
Your MCOL Claim History will have the definitive answer to that.

Can you please show us a picture of the Particulars of Claim - with all your personal detail hidden of course.

There is only room for a brief defence online,  not a decent one. Why that is is anyone's guess.
You'll be using the standard template so will need email it.

If you have, as you say, read the NEWBIE sticky, you surely came across the advice NOT to submit a defence on MCOL because it does exactly what you have written.  Instead do it by email and, if you read the template defence thread, it will give you the exact email address to use.

Thanks That's what I was wondering, It does of course give the email addresses but I didn't see a reason why not to file online, now I understand. Thanks!

I emailed the claim on 9 Jun 2025 @ 23:48 to Claimresponses.cnbc@justice.gov.uk and received a confirmation email but yesterday received a decision notice dated 13/06 saying default decision that I need to pay £200 +
What have I done wrong and what can be done about it???

    You did nothing wrong.

Just read the other threads like it (this is all too common) and send a complaint attaching your defence and the acknowledgement email to the CNBC headed UNPROCESSED DEFENCE COMPLAINT and the Claim number.

Also email a separate complaint to HMCTS.

You can find other threads like it by search the forum for:

    complain CNBC all too common

    or

    Judgment default defence

Thanks! before I got a chance to read up about it I got a letter from the court saying my judgement had been set aside as I responded in time (still went on my credit report which is having a domino effect) and the other side now have 28 days to respond which hopefully they won't!

They will. Your case is back on track.

Your important 'job' in July/August is now this:

It's very important that people like you tell the Government that you have no faith in the parking industry and the DRA demands were a pathetic attempt to extort money. It's cheaper and far better to defend a court claim and third parties adding any extra money is one of the major two factors that stop people engaging at pre-action stage (the other factor is using old addresses and refusing to reissue PCNs or hear disputes).

THE ENRICHMENT OF 'DEBT RECOVERY FEES' MUST BE COMPLETELY BANNED.

DISPUTED CASES ARE NOT SOLVED BY DEMANDING MORE MONEY AND ENGINEERING A 'PAYMENT PLAN'.

Responses are invited to the Consultation now:

Do it this month or in August at the latest pleeease! We will discuss it on that thread.
