Do you ever stop banging in about the SC?3

Big drop? It's 0.66p if you abolished gas standing charge, how is that 0.6p higher unit rate meant to cover 29p a day in SUMMER?wrf12345 said:With the big drop in gas unit rate it would have been the ideal moment to have gotten rid of the gas s/c and not dropped the unit rate so much, keep the Greenies happy as well as easier to justify heat pump running costs if the gas rate is higher (I know the electric and gas rates are interconnected at the moment but that is wholesale rates not consumer rates).
Gas rate is lower because we are in the season where less gas is used, thus its abundant and therefore cheaper, literally supply and demand
By the time people actually need to use gas to heat their homes, it'll be back up again.4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.0 -
Bendo said:Do you ever stop banging in about the SC?I would, considering it equates to nearly half my monthly bill. But I'm with E.on on their Next Drive V6 (with no EV). Fixed and yes, it looks like the SC would be lower by 12p if I was on a price cap but 6.7p/kwh for 7 hours each night cancels that out by a huge margin. I'm sticking!
