Santander 123 Lite - conversion to Everyday Account from 21 August 2025?

I'm surprised it has lasted so long after going NLA. Won't bother with Edge (for cashback anyway) as it'd barely break even.
The cynic in me thinks there'll be more cuts among loss leading current account before too long; that seems to be the direction of travel at the moment.0 -
I wasn't suggesting any course of action - was questioning the implication that the change is unofficial given it's on their website for all to see and was highly unlikely to change as they were floating as a possible outcome.Zanderman said:
Well yes, it's definitely going to happen, but there's no hurry to change accounts as the 123Lite cashback will continue asis until that end date.[Deleted User] said:
It's already on their website; waiting until you get a letter or PDF addressed to you won't change anything.Sea_Shell said:I think I'm going to wait until I get Official notification of the changes, then make a decision at the time.
Anything could happen before then.
Changes to your current account | Santander UK
Santander don't consider the UK market profitable enough, so it's logical they ditch loss leading accounts.
(and there might, in the few months remaining, be a new cashback paying offer from another bank, though that is probably unlikely)0 -
I expect it to happen, and most likely on that date. It everything is definite though, why do they not say so, and why are they not sending out emails?[Deleted User] said:

There's nothing about it in my documents, I only have a notice of variation for my edge account.friolento said:GeoffTF said:
I am inclined to agree. I am inclined to wait until Santander tells me that it is going to happen.Sea_Shell said:[Deleted User] said:

But within that link it says...
"...we're planning to convert..."
So, I'm just suggesting to wait until they are past the "planning" stage.
If you are on paperless communication, you probably have the notice sitting in your Documents folder by now.
It was great while it lasted. I'll wait and wake out the most I can until they convert it, unless anyone finds a good alternative.
MSE posted a link on Facebook for a 30 quid Amazon voucher to open an account with Santander, not to switch but just to open. If anyone fancies grabbing that.1 -
Good spot, details on the MSE website here:goatfaced said:

Can't see anything which stops existing customers from having it?1 -

I already had an Everyday and two Edges alongside my 123lite. Another Everyday added now, confirmation of registration for voucher received. All I need to do now is wait until June 19, when the voucher can be claimed.Santander do carry out a hard search for current account applications. I am never bothered about such searches but I know some people are, Unnecessarily, IMO.

Have any 123 lite customers had any official confirmation of the account conversion in August ??
My cashback this month was over £10 so loath to lose it !!0 -
Still no personal announcement that I've seen, but the website announcement seems definitive, so you'll need to expect to lose it!brewerdave said:Have any 123 lite customers had any official confirmation of the account conversion in August ??

no nothing yet, I would expect letters to be issued soon though, if they plan to give the more typical 60 days notice of change.brewerdave said:Have any 123 lite customers had any official confirmation of the account conversion in August ??
