PCP Complaint -- Barclays Partner Finance

I lodged a PCP complaint with Barclays Partner Finance (BPF) using the MSE template some time ago. I have been following MSE's guidance and was expecting an update imminently regarding the outcome of the Supreme Court Hearing. I have had a letter from BPF today updating me that the FCA have extended the timeframe that firms have to respond to complaints, and that the FCA review is expected to be confirmed after 4 December 2025, and then responses to customers in Jan 2026. This is a lot more of a protracted time frame than I was anticipating. Anyone received correspondence like this?

Yes.
Suggest you type "dca claim timeframe" into a search engine2 -
It is highly likely to go on for longer, nobody should expect a penny, full stop so there is a realistic expectation, but if there is a repayment scheme, it will be going on well into 2026 if not later
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

At the time the timescales were set the Supreme Court Hearing date hadn't been set and there were some interventions to prioritise the case hence its a little misaligned1 -
This is a lot more of a protracted time frame than I was anticipating. Anyone received correspondence like this?It may actually go on a lot longer than that. The consultation within 6 weeks of the Supreme Court judgement is on creating a section 404 redress scheme. Section 404 redress schemes have been known to take very many years to put in place, go through every case and come out the other end. Some as long as a decade until the final case.
