    A work coach at the job centre can only sanction his benefit if he can not prove he is " actively seeking work ". I'm assuming he sends/shows the work coach his job application records? If sanctions happen appeal straight away.

    As for recruitment agencies work coaches cannot 'force' up you to sign up but it may be beneficial if you do. Most of the jobs on agency sites can be found by going directly to the employer website. (if you can work out who the  employer is. If an agency asks for financial information he has a right to decline.

    I appreciate they have a job to do & most are helpful - sounds like an over zealous work coach to me
